SE-R Racing Videos

On this page you will find racing videos taken at various times over the years while racing with NASA and TCRA and SCCA/Cal Club. There are also videos of hotlapping events with SoCal SERCA. I hope you enjoy my work.

1. I attended a TCRA race at Streets of Willow (SOW). I produced this edited video of the event. SOW is a very technical track with lots of tight turns and elevation changes. It really tests the handling of a car and the skills of the driver rather than the power of a car. (8:22 min)

2. SoCal SERCA holds approximately four hotlapping events per year. I try to attend all of them. I get to meet my SE-R friends, instruct, and just have fun driving. I produced this video with the music of Deep Purple "Highway Star." (6:05 min)

3. NASA goes to Willow Springs International Raceway (WSIR) approximately 3-4 times every race season. The last time I was there with TCRA I started my race on pole, I spun in turn two, fell to last place, and then came back and won my race. Unfortunately, I did not have it on video. What are the odds of this happening again? Well it did. This time I have the race on video. (14:56 min)

4. This video is taken from Don Mock's Honda Civic CRX HC4 race car at a TCRA race at Buttonwillow. It was on a video cassette. I copied it onto a Mustek PVR and then to my computer. I am on pole and he is second. My slipping clutch makes me fall to third place. Then I come back and take 1st overall. (16:10 min)

5. I have not raced door-to-door since June 2005. This is my first qualifying since then. I call it "The Spin," for obvious reasons. You really do not want to spin at WOT at Buttonwillow through the fast sweeper known as Taladega or Riverside. But I did just that. The cost was two corded tires and a bruised ego, but I did qualify 2nd in class :-)
